Perth has woken to another bitterly cold morning but the winter chill will quickly give way to sunshine.
Early risers braved the cold as the mercury dipped to just 3.6C at 7.02am on Saturday.
Despite the frosty start, the Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting a mostly sunny day with a top of 21C and a 95 per cent chance of no rain.
Light north-easterly winds will become northerly through the middle of the day before easing during the afternoon, making for ideal conditions to get outdoors.
But the sunshine won’t last all weekend.
Cloud will increase on Sunday as a cold front approaches, bringing a high chance of morning showers and a cooler top of 19C.
North-westerly winds will swing south-westerly during the day as the front moves through.
Conditions improve again on Monday, with a slight chance of an isolated shower, a top of 19C and light winds.
Another cold morning is expected on Tuesday, with temperatures falling to 6C before reaching 18C under partly cloudy skies.
The middle of next week will bring a welcome burst of sunshine, with Wednesday forecast to reach 21C after a crisp 7C start.
Thursday is shaping as the pick of the week, with mostly sunny skies and a mild top of 22C.
A few showers are expected to return on Friday, although rainfall totals are forecast to remain light with only a medium chance of showers.
