Major peak hour delays are affecting the morning commute for travellers taking the train this morning.
TransPerth alerted the public just before 8am of “technical issues” causing delays for people using the Mandurah line.
“Trains on the Mandurah Line are experiencing delays due to technical issue,” a social media post from TransPerth read.
“Trains will continue to run however they are not running to the regular schedule. Thanks for your patience.”
A TransPerth spokesperson said issues with two trains were to blame.
“Services have been impacted this morning after two separate trains experienced mechanical issues on the Mandurah and Fremantle lines,” they said.
“Trains continue to run however they will not be running to the regular schedule. Transperth apologises for any inconvenience caused to passengers by the delay.”
People using the train Monday were told to prepare for the worst.
“Please allow extra travelling time and be aware that delayed trains may not connect with timetabled bus and train services,” the website stated.
It is not known when services will return to their regular program.
The service is responsible for transporting people to and from Perth, with 11 stops throughout the journey.
