Over a dozen residents in western New Brunswick are taking legal action against a potato chip company they say is disrupting their lives.
They say the operations of Covered Bridge Potato Chips Ltd. is causing excessive noise, industrial smells, light pollution and heavy truck traffic in the town of Woodstock.
Covered Bridge’s previous facility in Hartland, N.B., about 20 kilometres north of Woodstock, burned down in 2024.

The group says they thought the company’s factory in Woodstock that opened last year would be temporary.
They filed a legal claim to New Brunswick’s Farm Practices Review Board, which will consider whether it should hold a hearing or pass it on to the Court of King’s Bench.
Covered Bridge Potato Chips did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
