Moments of sunshine broke through a wet and windy weekend in Perth on Sunday, offering a brief reprieve from Saturday’s wild weather.
The city reached a cool maximum of 17C, with light west to northwesterly winds below 10 knots providing a welcome change from the stormy conditions that battered the metropolitan area the previous day.
Perth copped the worst of the cold and rainy weather system on Saturday, with up to 20mm of rain, thunderstorms and strong southwesterly winds swept across the metropolitan area.
Saturday’s wild weather also brought hail to parts of the city, prompting the Bureau of Meteorology to issue a gale marine wind warning at 2.12pm.
But the unsettled conditions are not over yet.
A moderate cold front is expected to move across the city on Monday, bringing another burst of morning showers.
Monday is shaping up to be the wettest and windiest day of the working week, with conditions expected to gradually ease from Tuesday.
Showers should become less frequent on Tuesday, with partly cloudy skies and a forecast top of 17C.
Wednesday and Thursday are expected to bring gradually clearing skies with the weather continuing to improve towards the end of the week.
By Saturday, Perth is shaping up for a sunny maximum of 23C.
