A breakdown on Mitchell Freeway northbound is wreaking late night havoc on Friday evening as the last of Perth’s commuters head home for the night.
The breakdown occurred on Mitchell Freeway northbound at Hepburn Avenue in Padbury, and was reported by Main Roads at 9.14pm.
The left lane has been closed by the breakdown, which is causing heavy congestion.
Main Roads have advised motorists to exercise ‘extreme’ caution when travelling in the area.
Just minutes earlier, another breakdown closed the right lane of Kwinana Freeway southbound.
The breakdown, located at South Terrace in Como, was reported by Main Roads at 9.10pm.
Police are on the scene, and traffic is slow leading up to the site as the right lane has been closed.
