Hundreds of homes and businesses are without power across Perth as an unplanned outage hits just as Fremantle faces Hawthorn in tonight’s qualifying final.
Western Power says 375 customers are currently without power in central Perth, with the outage reported at about 6.17pm.
Power is estimated to be restored by 11pm tonight, although Western Power says some customers may be reconnected sooner.
The outage comes just as Fremantle start playing in the first quarter of the highly-anticipated qualifying final against Hawthorn at Perth’s Optus Stadium.
A separate outage caused by network damage has also affected 117 customers in Mount Hawthorn and Joondanna.
Western Power said 115 customers in Joondanna and two in Mount Hawthorn lost power at about 5.15pm.
The Joondanna and Mount Hawthorn outage is also expected to be restored by 11pm tonight.
It follows another outage in Brookdale, where 23 customers lost power at about 3.09pm abd are expected to have it restored by 8.30pm this evening.
