Welcome to the Friday edition of Screencaps. It’s the last Friday of the month. It’s the last day of the month of July and the last day of my relief appearance.
We have training camps in the NFL underway. The first preseason game next week and a veteran move to report on from one of the league’s rising stars.
While Jaxson Dart is on the practice field preparing for his second season with the New York Giants and getting familiar with new head coach John Harbaugh, his girlfriend, Marissa Ayers, is on a bikini trip in Hawaii.

This is the move of someone with years in the league under their belt. It tells you that she’s been watching film. She’s picked up a few tips along the way, and she’s going to head into the season prepared for everything thrown her way.
There was a report on Thursday that came out about Ayers taking a 4 am flight from Charleston to New York recently to pay Dart a visit at a youth football camp.

On paper, and without the knowledge of this trip to Hawaii, the early morning flight, the surprise, and the “Honeymoon phase forever” caption reported on by the NY Post might seem like the move of a crazy girlfriend.
Now that we know this was an opportunity for the two of them to lock in before training camp, we can see it as another sign of the leadership Dart has been providing all offseason.
Will it show up in the win column during the season? It should. But it’s not easy to win in the NFL and there’s a lot that goes into it.
First and foremost is preparation. A bikini trip to Hawaii as training camp gets underway is a sign that QB 1 and his better half understand that.
Florida temps
– Nebraska Niemo writes:
Sean Jo/ Gen X Warren, I’m pretty sure no one from the Midwest feels bad for Florida when once every ten years or so you get single digit wind chills and triple digit summer temps. The Midwest gets negative real temps and triple digits in summer…every year…time to man up.
SeanJo
I don’t think the Florida temps thing was an attempt on Gen X Warren’s part to get any sympathy. That’s not my read on it, and it wasn’t my intention with my response either.
Florida, even with all the crazy that goes on down there unrelated to any weather, is a great place. Nobody is going to feel sorry for them having to occasionally deal with weather extremes.
Meat! And thoughts

Hey SeanJo,
Great work filling in this week. Forgot to add a picture of a couple of fillet mignons that I grilled up for my wife and I on Sunday. I just got a fresh propane tank and should’ve known better and kept a better eye on the steaks. While they were perfectly cooked, they got a little charred. New can, more flame, oh well. Still tasted great with hotel butter.
An additional thought on what I was talking about at that restaurant, it’s funny there are multiple locations close by, but that’s the only one that has a full bar. But I think it’s really just the people that work there and love to talk to me. I spoke with a buddy of mine who’s been going to the same bar and restaurant for lunch for years, very much like me, and he said when his favorite bartender left, he almost did too, but he said there’s just nothing like that feeling of your favorite restaurant. More about the atmosphere and the people than just the food.
Take care!

Thanks for the support. I don’t know about your wife, but mine prefers her meat on the grill like this. It better be perfectly cooked and then cooked some more.
On the topic of your favorite restaurant, as I said before, I haven’t done this and I want to start doing it. I will get there one day.
One of the best

If you have never seen the movie True Romance, you are missing out.. Honestly, one of the best casts in history..
Another great scene.. with Gary Oldman
Tarantino first movie I believe..
SeanJo
I don’t recall ever seeing this movie. If I did, I don’t remember it at all. It sounds familiar, but I don’t know if that’s because I remember hearing about it or because I watched it.
Not that I remember every movie I’ve ever seen, but I think I’d be able to remember a Quentin Tarantino movie. According to a search of the internet, True Romance was his first screenplay.
He sold it to finance his directorial debut Reservoir Dogs. Now that’s a movie I remember watching. At least parts of it I remember anyway.
I don’t know if I’ll get around to watching True Romance this weekend for a report on Sunday, but I will definitely add it to my list of movies to watch.

That’s it. That’s all for this Friday. That’s all for the month of July and that’s all for my latest relief appearance. Joe will be back on Saturday and I’ll see everyone in the Screencaps community on Sunday.
Until then, I have some respecting of summer to do. That includes playing defense in my own home on the purchase of fall and Halloween-related items. Stay strong out there. We have several weeks of summer left.
