Fremantle are sweating on a fresh injury to their most-experienced player, with Jaeger O’Meara failing to finish the game against Port Adelaide.
O’Meara went down with an ankle injury midway through the third quarter at Adelaide Oval. The 32-year-old’s ankle appeared to get caught in a Jackson Mead tackle, and he looked in immediate pain as he sat on the turf.
The 206-gamer went straight to the bench and failed to return as Fremantle begin to assess the severity of the injury.
O’Meara was playing just his sixth game for the season as he looks to cement his spot in Fremantle’s best line-up for their finals push.
The likes of Corey Wagner and Chris Scerri are likely to come into consideration for a recall if O’Meara’s injury is serious, though the Dockers may not need them if Shai Bolton is ready to return for the western derby clash against West Coast on Friday night after being managed this week.
