School holiday fun took over Middleton Beach on Saturday as families flocked to Play in the Bay for a day packed with activities, connection and coastal vibes.
The free inclusive event celebrated all-abilities sport and recreation in the region, delivered by APM Communities and Sport4All which worked alongside clubs and organisations.
Kids of all ages jumped into the action, with everything from interactive games to an inflatable soccer pitch keeping them entertained, while others took part in adaptive sports and chair yoga.
Play in the Bay also marked the final session of the season for the popular disabled surfing program, drawing a crowd to the water’s edge as participants made the most of the waves in a supportive and inclusive environment.
On the sand there was plenty to enjoy with live music setting the tone, while families grabbed a coffee and sausage sizzle.
The come-and-try day was designed to be accessible for everyone, encouraging people to get involved whether it was participating in activities or soaking up the sun at the beach in a family friendly atmosphere.
