Casey Donovan has announced her new role of a lifetime: she will soon be a first-time mother alongside her partner Renee Sharples.
The 38-year-old Australian singer and actress shared her amazing life update on Instagram on Saturday with a heartwarming photo of her and Sharples showing off ultrasound images.
“After extensive research, clinical assessment and absolutely no musical rehearsal… Baby arriving February 2027,” Donovan wrote in the caption.
The 2004 Australian Idol winner was also seen in the photo holding up a brown baby suit that had the words “cool bubs club” written on it.
The couple’s pregnancy news comes after Donovan, from the age of 14, was told she was unlikely to ever become a mother.
But thanks to IVF, her motherhood dream has come true.
“I’m feeling so many emotions right now,” Donovan told The Daily Telegraph.
“I’ve been told since I was a young girl that falling pregnant was going to be a massive issue or if it would ever happen at all, so I went into this going, ‘It’s not going to work, nothing’s going to.’
“I was told it may be difficult to conceive a child, hold a child and, yeah, give birth.
“I still don’t believe it.”
The Sister Act The Musical star was diagnosed as a teenager with polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS), formerly known as polycystic ovary syndrome.
She and Sharples have been together for six years and started their IVF journey at the end of 2025.
They went through egg retrieval and fertilisation with sperm from a donor before the eggs were cultured into embryos.
Donovan was always going to be the “carrier”, and the powerhouse singer is coming up to 22 weeks pregnant.

Her pregnancy announcement on social media was flooded with messages of congratulations from thousands of celebrity friends and fans.
Brendan Fevola said: “Whoooo this is the best. Congratulations to you both.”
Zan Rowe said: “Congrats Casey & Renee! Such wonderful and exciting news.”
Dami Im said: “Amazing! Congratulations!!!!”
Sam Mac, Ricki-Lee Coulter, Em Rusciano and Gisella Colletti were also overjoyed to hear the happy news.
Donovan has been touring the country on a 50-date run of shows for her This Is Me tour with the last one happening in Melbourne on November 14.
