Welcome to Screencaps, “America’s Best Daily Column,” as named by the readers. Screencaps, which publishes seven-days-a-week, is a mix of sports, pop culture, and emails from sane readers from around the world. This column isn’t for the coastal elites. Give us a week to steal your heart. Our track record is pretty good. Let’s have some fun.
This morning we get rolling with Caitlin Clark hitting the links in Carmel, Indiana now that her season is over after a first-round exit. Clark’s teammate, Lexie Hull, says they played Crooked Stick, which Golf Digest says “is ranked as one of the best golf courses in the country.”
How’d Clark play? Not great. Hull says there were a lot of bad shots, but “this was a good one.”
DANICA PATRICK & HER GIRLFRIENDS GO ON EPIC GOLF TRIP TO NEW ZEALAND, BEARS FAN ATTACKED, PLUS DANA’S BIG BET
This had to go at least 295 with the roll out.

Staying in Indiana, how does Cignetti keep getting away with this and the national media doesn’t say a word?
Cig could at least schedule a semi-hard game at least once in four years.
INDIANA COACH CURT CIGNETTI HAS MESSAGE FOR ANTSY HOOSIERS FANS: ‘DON’T B—- ABOUT A 38-0 WIN’
Here are the out of conference games Cig has opened with during his first three years at IU: Florida International, Western Illinois, Charlotte, Old Dominion, Kennesaw State, Indiana State, North Texas, Howard and Western Kentucky.
And now we get this news on 2027. Between that fraudulent preseason schedule and playing four road games, not enough attention is being given to what’s going on in Bloomington.
COCKY CURT CIGNETTI CALLED OUT THE SEC, BUT HE SHOULD GOOGLE INDIANA’S LAUGHABLE SCHEDULE FIRST
You’re telling me Indiana can’t get a home-and-home against someone like West Virginia? Virginia? Oklahoma State?
Let’s talk about this boy who suddenly decided to run in girls’ cross country
Readers are starting to send this in since I’m now deep into the world of cross country. The story is that a boy in the Pacific Northwest decides to switch from running against boys to running against girls. A tale as old as time, right? And it’s odd how often we hear about this stuff in the Pacific Northwest. So odd.
WOMEN WHO FACED BIOLOGICAL MALES IN GIRLS’ SPORTS AND LOCKER ROOMS SPEAK OUT AHEAD OF WASHINGTON STATE VOTE
Anyway, the boy goes from fairly poor JV race finishes to finishing second in a girls’ JV open race at a Nike Portland XC race. I don’t want you guys to fall for the narrative that’s being spread that this teen boy would’ve won some varsity girls race. He ran a 19:17:7 at the Portland race. He wouldn’t have dominated the varsity race where the females were running in the 17:20:00 range.
However, once again, here we go with this stupidity.
How’d the school address this? Oh, it’s up to the student to figure out his gender identity and if he thinks he should be running against the girls, then so be it. Do you feel like a girl? Boom, you’re in the girls’ race. The school says it is just following state law.
Camera angles on important plays in sports
– Scott K. makes a good point: 2026 and we can’t get two cameras on each post for field goals as well as on foul poles to see if balls are fair, foul, good, or wide. Incredible.
Should a delivery company drop off a $28k item at a house and not require a signature?
I’m not going to reveal who had the item dropped off, but it’s someone I personally know. He said the fairly mainstream freight delivery company (not Amazon, FedEx, UPS or USPS) just left the rather large item at the door Monday without even giving him a heads up, or requiring someone to sign for the delivery.
Can anyone beat that? Ever had someone more valuable than that just show up like it’s a pair of shoes being delivered by Amazon?
What did you think of the Travis Kelce is scoring 6s on and off the field sign from the Raiders game?
– ‘Sheriff’ John in Texas checks in: I think that’s funny as heck. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the sign. It’s not vulgar and it’s meant to be funny.
Is she pretty? Sure. But not drop dead gorgeous, either.

Back in the day when I listened to Howard Stern a long time ago (before he went off the deep end), he had some great lines about Taylor Swift and her love life. Again, meant to be funny and meant to tease a billionaire pop singer (who’s now married to an NFL star). What he said would be inappropriate for an NFL sign, but that’s not what this was. Get over it. It’s funny.

Anyone sick of the text messages begging for money? I’ll just go ahead and say it, I cannot wait for November 4. I’ll estimate that I’ve seen 15,000 political commercials since August 1.
