According to NFL penalty stats through eight games, the Chiefs are at a +10 net flag advantage. Opponents have been flagged more than the Chiefs. Google Gemini reports, “Kansas City consistently ranks among the cleanest home teams in the league at Arrowhead Stadium but experiences a significant jump in pre-snap flags (false starts, delay of game, illegal motion) on the road due to crowd noise and snap timing adjustments.”

• It’s time for us to talk about how good of a deal Costco premade meals are these days. The taco meal is $16. We did the math and 12 tacos, which the meal kit made for my family this weekend, would cost $65.16 before tip at our local Mexican restaurant. Yes, the $5 chickens are a steal. Yes, the hot dog meal is legendary. It’s time for the taco platter to be put on the same pedestal.

• I have to give Mariah Carey, 57, credit for leaning into the joke/reality of her kicking off Christmas the minute Halloween is over. Hate her all you want, but you better be respecting her ability to read the room and make money. She knows suburban women are putting up Christmas decorations earlier and earlier. Billboard estimates she made between $2.7 million to $3.3 million in royalties for her ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ song. It’s a helluva retirement plan.
• The Vikings have to be the worst 6-1 team I’ve seen in 20 years. Do you have any idea how beat up the Lions are on defense? The secondary has been in shambles all season and now Jack Campbell is out with neck/concussion issues. The Vikings rushed for 81 YARDS against the Lions. Kyler Murray had 35 of those yards. Simply pathetic, but, MY LIONS stay close in the NFC North race and sets up what should be one of the biggest Thanksgiving Day games in Lions history when the Bears come to town on November 26. The get-in price for that game is $310.
• Rob M. in Florida has some thoughts this morning: Shopping- I absolutely refuse to have my groceries delivered, no way, no how. I’ve seen the delivery drivers bringing Insta cart, Wal-Mart bags to the different condo’s in my building, with all due respect to the good people that do that for a living, no way in hell you people get any where near my food. The bigger reason is that I enjoy going to the local Publix, a few of my neighbors work there, I know most of the staff and the store is clean and pleasant. I enjoy getting out and looking for sales and seeing what is available, I’m old, that kind of thing interests me. I’ve always said, when I’m old and retired, I’m going to go out at the busiest part of the day and wander around with people who are in a hurry and have some place to go, I damn sure have no place to be, I drove up there on my golf cart, you probably got stuck behind me on the road over.
Bill and JorDON- Gee, never saw that coming. Good for you Bill, hope you enjoyed the ride, now get ready for the tell-all book, the media tour and everything that comes with a relationship like that. Bill, do what every guy having a midlife crisis does, get the Corvette, color you hair some ridiculous jet black and, oh wait, you just went with the hot 20 something and didn’t do the car or hair, carry on.

Notre Dame- It’s my favorite time of year again, Notre Dame in the top five, the excitement is building, the anticipation of the Irish fighting for a National Championship is coming to a fever pitch. “We’re back!” “We deserve to be right where we are!” “Bring on the playoffs!” I’m not ready to type out a four paragraph rant on this yet, but it’s coming, Oh it’s coming……
• CF in Kansas adds perspective to the groceries chat: Being able to order groceries online and have them delivered was literally a lifeline during Covid. My elderly mother lived in another state. She would let me know what she needed, I would place an order online and the store would deliver the groceries. My mother lived in senior housing so the kind delivery person would even unload the groceries and put them away. My mother loved it!! Now we do the same for my elderly mother-in-law who lives in another state. There must be many other boomers out there with the same situation. For those people grocery order and delivery area Godsend!!

• Mrs. Screencaps had me up an hour early this morning because of her clock mismanagement. The alarm went off, I jumped out of bed and went over to wake up Screencaps Jr. who started pleading with me that his clock was right. Meanwhile, Mrs. Screencaps claimed she was right. I ended up downstairs looking at my phone and it turned out Mrs. Screencaps had cheated me out of an hour of sleep.
